Joint military displays and training between Algeria and the United States – New Algeria

Algiers witnessed the organization of joint military performances and exercises between the US Marine Corps in Europe and Africa, based in Naples, Italy, and the 1st Ceremonial Regiment of the Republican Guard Command, as part of a first-of-its-kind visit by this American squad to Algeria.
These performances were characterized by the exchange of military marches, musical rhythms, and protocol performances, in a scene that reflects the level of coordination and professionalism that characterizes the existing cooperation between the two military institutions. The event also represented an opportunity to share experiences and enhance mutual understanding in the areas of military discipline and official traditions.
This visit coincides with the first anniversary of the signing of a historic memorandum of understanding between Algeria and the United States of America for security cooperation, an agreement that established an institutional framework for developing the bilateral partnership in the security field, in a way that serves the common interests of the two countries and contributes to enhancing regional stability.
This joint activity confirms that Algerian-American security cooperation is still continuing at an increasing pace, in light of the commitment of both parties to deepening coordination and exchanging experiences, especially in the context of the current security challenges taking place in the African and Mediterranean region.
This initiative also reflects Algeria’s keenness to be open and cooperate with its international partners within the framework of respect for national sovereignty, and to enhance joint action capabilities in a way that supports peace and security at the regional and international levels.
