A guide to frequently used terms in trade and economics was launched, which was completed within the framework of institutional cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion and the Ministry of Internal Trade and National Market Control, with scientific contribution from the Supreme Council for the Arabic Language.
A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Export Promotion, today, Monday, explained that The guide’s launching ceremony took place at the Ministry’s headquarters, and was supervised by the Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Professor Kamal Raziq, the Minister of Internal Trade and National Market Control, Amal Abdel Latif, and the President of the Supreme Council for the Arabic Language, Professor Saleh Belaid. This guide includes a trilingual code (Arabic, French, English) that includes more than 1,450 terms used in various fields of trade and economics, with an explanation accompanying each term, in addition to a set of relevant administrative documents.
By the way, Professor Kamal Raziq considered that the issuance of this guide constitutes an important step in the process of modernizing and developing the commercial system and enhancing transparency in commercial transactions, as it will contribute to unifying the terminology in use in order to reach the use of sound, simple and accurate vocabulary and terminology that is accessible to all those involved in the sector.
The Minister also called for this guide to be taken as a practical and linguistic reference to enlighten sector professionals, while generalizing its use to include broader groups such as researchers, students, and economic operators.
For her part, Abdel Latif highlighted the importance of this guide, stressing that it is not just a linguistic work, but rather a practical tool to enhance coordination between various bodies, facilitate communication between economic dealers, and improve the quality of economic and commercial discourse.
In the same context, the two ministers, accompanied by the President of the Supreme Council for the Arabic Language, honored the members of the Scientific Committee who contributed to the preparation of this guide.
