Discussing the text of the law criminalizing French colonialism – New Algeria

He proceeded parliamentToday, Monday, in discussing the text of the law criminalizing French colonialism in Algeria, during a public session chaired by the President of the Council, Azouz Nasseri.

Here comes the text the law Within a national path aimed at consolidating the historical references of the Algerian state and preserving collective memory.

This text, which includes 5 chapters and 27 articles, is based on the principles of international law that affirm the right of peoples to legal redress, historical justice, and freedom from impunity.

The text of the law also enumerates the crimes of French colonialism, determines the responsibility of the French state for its colonial past in Algeria, and establishes mechanisms to demand recognition and apology, in addition to approving penal measures to criminalize the glorification of colonialism or its promotion.
