Jribia explained, in his speech to the Algerian News Agency, on the sidelines of the opening of the fourth edition of the Algiers State Citrus Exhibition, that the agricultural chambers had not previously recognized the farmer’s status of the partner who works on the concessionaire’s land, due to the absence of legal mechanisms for that, but the new circular obliges them to prepare the farmer’s professional card based on the partnership’s graphic card and the partnership contract.
He added that the Chamber’s Board of Directors recently studied dozens of files, and their owners will be granted Al-Falah cards soon.

He added that raising the level of production was achieved through intensive agriculture, as between 600 and 800 trees are currently planted per hectare, compared to 300 trees previously, while improving quality thanks to the diversity of varieties and following modern methods of agriculture.
The director of agricultural services for the state of Algiers, Mehdi Missaoui, also highlighted efforts to maintain “high production levels,” by moving towards the use of multi-domed greenhouses, which were distributed over about 200 hectares in the state, with a focus on using treated water to reduce pressure on traditional water, pointing to a project under study with the Irrigation Directorate that aims to water 4 hectares of fruit trees at the state level.
The event, which continues until tomorrow, Thursday, witnessed the participation of more than 70 exhibitors, including producers and professionals from the various municipalities of the state of Algiers, where pavilions were allocated to display the various types and varieties of citrus produced at the local level, with the participation of many institutions and bodies affiliated with the agriculture and rural development sector and other relevant sectors, economic operators and emerging institutions.
