The truth about the dispute with Lockman
News has recently spread in African and international media that Victor Osimhen has left the Nigerian national team camp.
The press attributed the reason to a dispute between the Turkish Galatasaray striker and his colleague Ademola Lookman, the Italian Atalanta striker, during the Mozambique match in the 16-final of the African Cup of Nations.
The two players argued because Osimhen asked Lookman to abandon selfishness in playing, as the two clashed during the match without the situation developing into a quarrel.
Lookman, in turn, was quick to calm things down after the incident, describing Osimhen as a brother, stressing that such matters are normal and happen between players in clubs and national teams.
The Nigerian national team defeated its Mozambican counterpart 4-0 in the first knockout round.
Galatasaray’s top scorer scored a brace, while Lookman scored a goal and provided two assists to win the Player of the Match award.

The Nigerian Federation motivates its players
The Nigerian Football Federation has allocated a financial grant of $15,000 to each player in exchange for overcoming the Algerian national team and qualifying for the semi-finals of the 35th edition of the African Cup of Nations.
The Nigerian Federation’s move came to refute all the rumors related to the rebellion of Malian coach Eric Schall’s squad, and their threat to launch a strike before the decisive date against the Greens.
Nigerians will receive a financial reward amounting to $30,000 after passing the group stage with full marks, according to the Foot Africa website.
The Football Association is counting on motivating the players to win the fourth continental title, as the grants can reach a total of 112 thousand dollars in the event of winning the cup.
