The Secretary-General of the Semitic Amazigh Governorate, Hashemi Assad, revealed that the celebration of the Amazigh New Year this year will be held in the state of Beni Abbes.
Which was chosen by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, due to its richness in intangible heritage and its importance in the Amazigh dimension.
Assad pointed out that the region includes unique linguistic variants, such as the “Iqli” region, whose residents speak the Amazigh language.
And the “Tablabala” region, where a linguistic variant known as Koulungi is used, which is a mixture of Berber, Arabic, and an African Songgal language.
He stressed that the celebration reflects Algeria’s commitment to linguistic and cultural diversity,
