Several states of the country witnessed a severe cold wave with heavy rain and heavy snow falling on the highlands, as the meteorological services warned of continuing to record low temperatures with the rainfall.
In this context, the same authorities revealed, in a special bulletin on Wednesday, heavy thunderstorms and heavy snowfall, with low temperatures recorded across several states of the country.
The same authorities warned that heavy thunderstorms would continue until dawn on Thursday, in the states of Jijel, Skikda, Annaba and El Tarf.
Meteorology also expected that the states of Setif, Mila, Constantine, Guelma and Souk Ahras would witness continued heavy thunderstorms until 15:00 on Wednesday evening.
The same interests stem from the continued snowfall on heights exceeding 800 metres, where its thickness reaches 15 cm and may exceed 25 cm on the mountains of the Sharia Djerjara, Babur and Wancheris regions, until midday on Wednesday in Tlemcen, Naama, El Bayadh, Sidi Bel Abbes, Tiaret, Saida, Mascara, Tissemsilt, Ain Defla, Medea, Blida, Tipaza, Laghouat, Djelfa, M’sila. Bouira, Tizi Ouzou, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Jijel, Bejaia and Setif.
Heights above 900 meters will witness continued heavy snowfall, with a thickness of up to 10 cm, until midday today, Wednesday, and this is in the states of Mila, Constantine, and Skikda. Guelma, Souk Ahras, Oum El Bouaghi, Batna, Khenchela and Tebessa.
It was also expected to record a cold wave with minimum temperatures reaching 5 degrees below zero, and maximum temperatures ranging between 4 and 6 degrees until dawn on Thursday in the states of Tlemcen, Naama, El Bayadh, Laghouat, Djelfa, Batna, Khenchela, Tebessa, and Oum El Bouaghi. M’Sila, Tiaret, Tissemsilt, Saida and Sidi Bel Abbes.
