Customs services in the state of Laghouat were able to thwart an attempt to smuggle a huge quantity of hallucinogenic tablets, amounting to more than 700,000 tablets, which were tightly hidden inside a trailer truck.
A statement by the concerned departments stated, today, Tuesday, that the qualitative operation came as a result of tight coordination between the agents of the Customs Mobile Division in Djelfa and the Multi-tasking Division in Qattara, and in cooperation with members of the People’s National Army and members of the National Gendarmerie in Saad.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 723,300 hallucinogenic Pregabalin tablets with a concentration of 300 mg, which were carefully hidden on board a trailer truck.
Two people suspected of involvement in this criminal network were also arrested and brought before the competent judicial authorities to take the necessary legal measures.
