Badrisi refutes rumors of a merchant strike and stresses the adoption of the language of dialogue – New Algeria

Today, Tuesday, the Secretary-General of the Algerian Traders and Craftsmen Union, Issam Badrisi, denied the rumors circulating about merchants organizing a general strike on January 8, 2025, and stressed that these rumors are false and baseless.
In a press conference held on the occasion, Badrisi reassured all traders that his organization adopts all their concerns and discusses them periodically with the relevant agencies, through the federations affiliated with the federation, stressing that there are solutions and the doors of dialogue are open with all transparency, credibility and frankness.
In the same context, the Secretary-General of the Algerian Tradesmen and Craftsmen Union denounced the strike calls for January 8th from unknown people on social media platforms, and expressed that their intention was to strike the citizen’s conscience.
In his speech, Badrisi pointed out that the movement of goods transport has returned to normal today, after the fluctuations witnessed by some lines. He also mentioned his visit, yesterday, to the Al-Smar market, where the merchants confirmed that there was no strike on the eighth of January, as some Facebook pages reported.
By the way, the Secretary-General called on traders not to be drawn into the defamatory and biased campaigns aimed at destabilizing the market, appreciating the full awareness of traders of the magnitude of the challenges facing Algeria.
