Detachments of the People’s National Army neutralized 67 terrorists and arrested 369 support personnel during the year 2025. They also achieved qualitative results in combating organized crime, arresting 2,354 drug dealers and thwarting attempts to bring 35 tons of processed kif across the Moroccan border.
As a result of its operations, the Ministry of National Defense reported that the year 2025 culminated in achieving qualitative field results in the field of combating terrorism and combating organized crime in all its forms.
In the context of combating terrorism, the armed forces were able to neutralize 67 terrorists, arrest 369 support personnel, uncover and destroy 12 hideouts that were used by terrorist groups, and recover 104 firearms, 13 traditional-made mines, and quantities of ammunition of various calibres.
As part of the fight against organized crime, army detachments arrested 2,354 drug dealers and thwarted attempts to bring 35 tons of processed kif across the border with Morocco, while seizing 934 kg of cocaine and 40 million hallucinogenic tablets.
The same toll also revealed that 18,744 people were arrested, 498 firearms and 1,747 vehicles were seized, and 7,633 pressure hammers, 12,574 electric generators, 280 metal detectors, 2,638,000 liters of fuel, 1,850 quintals of tobacco, and 1,298 tons of foodstuffs destined for smuggling and speculation were seized.
Regarding illegal immigration, army detachments arrested 24,071 illegal immigrants of different nationalities across the national territory.
