A statement by the Ministry of National Defense said on Monday that, within the framework of the fight against terrorism, the armed forces were able to neutralize 67 terrorists, arrest 369 support personnel, and uncover and destroy 12 hideouts that were used by terrorist groups. In this context, the results revealed the arrest of 2,354 drug dealers, the thwarting of attempts to bring 35 tons of processed alcohol across the border with Morocco, and the seizure of 934 kg of cocaine and 40 million hallucinogenic tablets.

These organized and coordinated operations also included the arrest of 18,744 people and the seizure of 498 firearms and 1,747 vehicles. Also seized were 7,633 pressure hammers, 12,574 electric generators, 280 metal detectors, 2,638,000 liters of fuel, and 1,850 quintals of tobacco, in addition to 1,298 tons of foodstuffs destined for smuggling and speculation.

On the other hand, joint detachments of the People’s National Army arrested 24,071 illegal immigrants of different nationalities across the national territory.
