Capital security intervenes strongly to combat organized crime

The capital’s security services were able, through qualitative operations, to overthrow two criminal networks One specialized in robbing companies, and another in drug trafficking, where operations resulted in the arrest of 13 people.

The Algiers state security statement stated that the property raiding squad in the second judicial police district of Bab Ezzouar last week succeeded in overthrowing a criminal group consisting of 9 people with prior judicial convictions, who robbed several companies at the level of the central states.

This operation came after the same authorities received several complaints regarding several companies being robbed, and the perpetrators seized sums of money and electronic devices.

The Capital Security Services added that investigations carried out by members of the Authority under the supervision of the regional prosecutor made it possible to identify the suspects and arrest them. Stolen items were seized and recovered, including equipment and tools used in theft operations, two plastic weapons, prohibited white weapons, 7 television sets, 4 laptop computers, 11 mobile phones, in addition to a sum of money in the national currency estimated at 243 million centimes from the proceeds of the theft.

On the other hand, and within the framework of combating crimes related to the illicit trade in narcotics and psychotropic substances, the security services of the state of Algiers, represented by the mobile squad of the Istaouli judicial police for the security of the administrative district of Zeralda, were able last week to paralyze the activity of a criminal network consisting of 4 people, including a woman, and to seize (880) grams of the hard drug cocaine.

This operation was carried out after extensive field investigations, which enabled investigators to uncover the activity of a criminal network specialized in illicit trafficking in hard drugs, so that its members could be identified and subsequently arrested.

The operation, which was carried out under the supervision of the regional prosecutor, enabled the seizure of 880 grams of hard drugs, cocaine, and a ship alarm (Signal).
