Hafid Draghi comments on facing Algeria in the 16-finals of the African Cup of Nations – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

Algerian sports commentator Hafid Draghi commented on facing the Algerian national team in the 16-final of the African Cup of Nations, stressing that Algeria will face the second-placed team from the fourth group, unlike the rest of the teams that will face the third-placed team from the first four groups.

Draghi published a post on his official Facebook page in which he said: “The leaders of the first four groups in the tournament will face the third-place team in the eighth-final.

Except for Algeria and defending champion Côte d’Ivoire from the fifth and sixth groups, where they will face the second-place finishers.”

He added: “If we had come in second place, we would have played against Côte d’Ivoire or Cameroon, and since we won first place, we would have faced Senegal or the Republic of the Congo.”

The Algerian national team will get to know its opponent on Tuesday evening, after Senegal currently occupies the top spot in Group D with 4 points, equally with the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

While the Benin national team is in third place with 3 points, and Botswana is in last place with no score.

The group’s final round matches will be held on Wednesday, with Senegal meeting Benin at eight in the evening, while the Democratic Republic of Congo faces Botswana at the same time.
