Referring 15 corruption files to the competent regional public prosecutors – New Algeria

The Supreme Authority for Transparency, Prevention and Combating of Corruption, its formation and its powers decided to refer 15 files, out of 18 files, that were examined to the relevant regional public prosecutors, and two (02) files to the Accounting Council, which potentially include acts of corruption, according to a statement, today, Monday, by the Authority.
According to the same statement, this came during the meeting of the Supreme Authority Council, in its fourth regular session, headed by Professor Salima Masrati, and in the presence of its members, yesterday, in implementation of the provisions of Article 31 of Law No. 22-08, relating to the organization, formation and powers of the Supreme Authority for Transparency, Prevention and Combating of Corruption, and its formation and powers, during which,
Approving the outcome of the activities of the Supreme Authority for the year 2025, approving the work plan of the Supreme Authority for the year 2026, as well as discussing the implementation and disbursement of the annual budget for the year 2025, in addition to approving the draft budget of the Supreme Authority for the year 2026.
In the same context, in accordance with the same legal provisions, files that were likely to include acts of corruption were studied. Eighteen (18) files were examined, and it was decided to refer fifteen (15) files of them to the competent regional public prosecutors, and two (02) files to the Accounting Council.
At the conclusion of the work of this session, and within the framework of strengthening the prevention and combat of corruption and developing cooperation with international bodies and organizations, cooperation projects and agreements with a number of counterpart bodies in sister countries were studied, which were discussed during the work of the eleventh session of the Conference of States Parties, held in Doha, State of Qatar.
