Referring 15 corruption files to justice – New Algeria

Referred The supreme authority for transparency Preventing and combating corruption, 15 files on the Justice Department and two files on the Council Accounting Out of a total of 18 files that may include acts of corruption.
A statement by the authority, today, Monday, explained that “in implementation of the provisions of Article 31 of Law No. 22-08, relating to the organization, formation and powers of the Supreme Authority for Transparency, Prevention and Combating of Corruption, its formation and powers, a meeting of the Supreme Authority Council was held yesterday, Sunday, in its fourth regular session, headed by Salima Masrati, and in the presence of its members.” During the meeting, and in accordance with the provisions of Article 29 of the aforementioned law, “files that were likely to include acts of corruption were studied, and 18 files were examined.” It was decided to refer 15 of these files to the competent regional prosecutors, and two files to the Accounting Council.
In accordance with the same provisions – the same source adds – it took place during this meeting Authentication On the outcome of the Authority’s activities for the year 2025, as well as the work plan for the year 2026, with a discussion of the implementation and disbursement of the annual budget for the year 2025 and the approval of the draft budget for the year 2026.
Within the framework of strengthening the prevention and combat of corruption and developing cooperation with international bodies and organizations, cooperation projects and agreements with a number of counterpart bodies in sister countries were also studied, which were discussed during the work of the 11th session of the Conference of States Parties, held recently in the capital of the State of Qatar, Doha, according to what was included in the statement.
