The Meteorological Department reported a cold wave and very low temperatures, with thunderstorms and heavy snow falling on several states of the country today, Sunday.
An alert issued by the same departments warned that significant thunderstorms would continue to fall locally until nine o’clock at night. The states of Tlemcen, Naama, Bashar and Sidi Bel Abbes.
Another warning reported significant thunderstorms falling locally starting at midday today and continuing until midnight. The states concerned are Saïda, El Bayadh and Tiaret.
The states of Medea, Laghouat and Djelfa will witness locally significant thunderstorms starting at nine o’clock this evening. To continue until dawn tomorrow, Monday.
As for the western highlands of the country, heavy snowfall will continue until three in the afternoon. This applies to the states of Tlemcen and Naama.
The highlands of Sidi Bel Abbes, Saida, El Bayadh and Tiaret will also witness heavy snowfall on the western highlands. Starting at midday today and continuing until midnight.
The meteorological services warned of a severe cold wave continuing until dawn tomorrow, Monday, in the states of Tebessa. Khenchela, Batna, Setif, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Djelfa, Laghouat, El Bayadh and Naama.
