Saadawi announces the removal of secondary materials from the final sections

The Minister of National Education, Mohamed Al-Saghir Saadawi, announced new trends to bring about profound changes in academic programs in line with modern cognitive and technological transformations, stressing the elimination of secondary subjects not related to specialization to reduce the burden on final year students.

The Minister of Education, Mohamed Al-Saghir Saadawi, revealed, during his response to questions from members of the Children’s Parliament, that the in-depth evaluation of educational programs showed an urgent need to reorganize the academic content, as the work of the National Committee for Quality in Education resulted in the completion of the review of the programs for the final sections in secondary and middle school.

In this context, the Minister explained that the new reform focuses on giving students a wider scope for specialization by focusing on the core subjects associated with each division, indicating that abandoning some non-specialized subjects aims to improve the performance of achievement and enable the student to invest his effort in the basic subjects instead of distraction.

In a related context, Saadawi revealed a project to create a new division in secondary education specializing in automated media, digital technologies, and information systems, with the aim of keeping pace with the requirements of modern university training in the fields of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and nanotechnology.

Regarding intermediate education, the Minister confirmed that the Ministry is working to reduce the academic content while keeping the student informed of all subjects to help him choose the appropriate division in secondary school, and he promised to announce the details of the new procedures in the near future while providing studied application mechanisms.
