University of Algiers 3: National competition on media and cybersecurity…”Details” – New Algeria

The University of Algiers 3, represented by the Faculty of Media and Communication Sciences, announced today, Saturday, the organization of the second edition of the national competition on “Media, Communication and Cybersecurity,” which is scheduled to be held during the month of May 2026, on the occasion of World Press Day, which falls on May 3 of each year.
This competition is organized under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and sponsored by the Director of the University of Algiers 3 and the Dean of the Faculty of Media and Communication Sciences, with the participation of several academic bodies and media institutions.
The competition aims to encourage students and researchers to produce scientific and media production in the field of digital media and cybersecurity, and to contribute to spreading awareness of cybersecurity within the university community and society in general, in addition to enhancing the culture of digital sovereignty in light of the rapid technological transformations.
The participating works revolve around a number of axes, including: digital communication and cybersecurity, digital media and cybersecurity, digital education and cyberthreats, media analysis and social media platforms, in addition to digital communication and strategic vigilance.
The organizing body has specified the participation categories in three main categories, including the category of professors and researchers for the best scientific article, the category of doctoral students for the best scientific article, in addition to the category of bachelor’s and master’s students for the best media work, whether it is an article, video, design, drawing, photo or other digital production.
Regarding the conditions for participation, the organizers required that the work be original and previously unpublished, adhere to approved academic standards, respect the rules of documentation in APA style, and submit works in electronic formats accompanied by a copy of identification documents.
The deadline for submitting works is set for April 1, 2026, and a ceremony honoring the winners will be held on May 2, 2026, where the best works in each category will be crowned with appreciation prizes.
The organizing committee confirmed that the arbitration process will remain confidential, and participants have no right to object to the final results, within the framework of ensuring integrity and transparency.
