The Metropolitan Police arrested two suspects red-handed in stealing vehicle belongings on Didouche Mourad Street, in Central Algiers, according to a statement from the Metropolitan Police, Monday.
In this regard, the statement stated, “Within the framework of combating crime of all kinds, the Metropolitan Police, represented by the Second Urban Security, Didouche Mourad, and the Security of the Administrative District of Sidi M’hamed, were able last week to arrest two suspects in the case of theft of vehicle accessories, and to recover the stolen items.”
The same statement explained, “The case came as a result of a complaint filed by a citizen at the police headquarters level after he was exposed to the theft of his vehicle’s accessories. In coordination with the regionally competent prosecution and by exploiting technical means, judicial police officers were able to identify the perpetrators, and based on a precise plan, they were arrested in the act of stealing vehicle accessories.”
The same source indicated that “the operation resulted in the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of vehicle accessories, along with the seizure of equipment used in the theft operations, psychotropic substances, and a sum of money.”
The Metropolitan Police statement confirmed, “The two suspects were brought before the competent regional prosecutor in the case of forming a group of evil people, intentionally sabotaging someone else’s property, stealing accessories from a vehicle using a tool, and a vehicle transporting a vehicle in flagrante delicto.”
