The Minister of Mujahideen confirms the state’s pride in its children abroad

The Minister of Mujahideen and Rights Defenders, Abdelmalek Tachrift, received at the National Museum of the Mujahideen a group of children and youth of the Algerian community residing abroad, as part of the Memory Journey activities organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Secretariat of State in charge of the National Community Abroad, in cooperation with the Ministry of Mujahideen and Rights Defenders.
This visit represented a valuable opportunity for the members of the community to learn about the history of their motherland, as they toured the various wings of the museum and learned about bright moments in the history of Algeria through various eras. They also got to know the symbols of the national movement and the liberation revolution who wrote bright pages in the record of the national struggle.
Within the framework of the program dedicated to young people, children and youth watched a 3D film entitled “Al-Saqia”, which was produced by the Ministry of Mujahideen and Rights Defenders. It tells a poignant human story inspired by the events of Saqia Sidi Youssef, the massacre committed by French colonialism in which Algerian and Tunisian martyrs fell, in testimony to the depth of brotherhood and common struggle between the two brotherly peoples.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister of Mujahideen presented souvenirs to the participants, expressing the Algerian state’s interest in the members of the community and its keenness to strengthen their connection to their roots and national identity, and to enable them to understand the history of their country and be proud of it.
The Memory Journey programme, which is organized by the Secretariat of State in charge of the national community abroad in coordination with the Ministry of Mujahideen, includes a number of visits and activities aimed at deepening the awareness of the younger generations about the history of Algeria and its struggles.
These activities include visiting historical monuments in the capital, in addition to visiting the state of Setif on December 23 and 24, where participants will learn about the historical sites and cultural monuments of this city that witnessed the massacres of May 8, 1945, one of the turning points in the history of the national movement.
The delegation will also head to Blida Province on December 25, to participate in the naming ceremony of a public park in the name of the child martyr Omar Yassef, known as “Omar the Little,” one of the symbols of sacrifice and redemption in the liberation revolution, in addition to other tourist visits in coordination with the Ministry of Environment and Quality of Life.
