A study day on the protection of personal data

On Thursday, December 4, the Constitutional Court is organizing a study day, in partnership with the National Authority for the Protection of Personal Data, in order to highlight the importance of coordination between the two institutions in the field of personal data protection.

A statement by the National Authority stated, “Within the framework of strengthening institutional cooperation and consolidating the principles of protecting constitutional rights and freedoms, the Constitutional Court, in partnership with the National Authority for the Protection of Personal Data, is organizing a study day under the title ‘Areas of integration and cooperation between the Constitutional Court and the National Authority for the Protection of Personal Data’ on December 4, 2025 at the headquarters of the Constitutional Court.”

The statement explained that this study day aims to highlight the importance of coordination between the two institutions in the field of protecting personal data, as it is one of the basic rights guaranteed by the Constitution, as well as to discuss mechanisms for enhancing cooperation and integration in performing relevant supervisory and judicial tasks.

The same statement added that the school day begins with two key speeches delivered by the President of the National Authority, Samir Bourahil, in which he addresses the reality of protecting personal data and the legislative and institutional developments that Algeria is witnessing in this field.

The President of the Constitutional Court also highlights the constitutional role of the Constitutional Court in protecting rights and freedoms and ensuring respect for constitutional principles related to the protection of private life and personal data.

The school day’s program will also record a series of interventions presented by members of the Constitutional Court and national authority frameworks on the subject, according to the same source.
