The occupation plans to deport Gaza patients in Jerusalem to an unknown destination – Algerian Dialogue

On Monday, the Israeli occupation authorities intend to deport Palestinian patients from the Gaza Strip who are receiving treatment in hospitals in the occupied city of Jerusalem, along with their companions and children born in the city, to an unknown destination, according to Palestinian reports.

The decision includes the patients of Al-Maqasid Hospital, Al-Mutala Hospital, and the hotels where the patients reside, as the transfer operation is scheduled to be carried out at five in the morning, using buses accompanied by military vehicles, according to the sources.

The sources expressed serious concerns about patient safety and transportation conditions, calling on human rights institutions, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the relevant Palestinian government agencies to immediately follow up on the issue and ensure that patients, children, and their companions are protected from any potential risks.

At least 89 patients from Gaza, along with their companions, face the risk of forcible transfer, according to their families and medical teams, at a time when some indicate that some patients may be forced to return to the devastated Strip, where 94% of its hospitals were damaged or destroyed according to World Health Organization data.

Many of these patients were evacuated before the start of the extermination war on Gaza two years ago, while most of them agreed to return voluntarily, while it is feared that some of them would be forcibly sent.

The World Health Organization reported that the Israeli army asked it to facilitate the transfer of patients early next week, amid concerns about their safety and transportation conditions, warning that any delay in dealing with critical cases is equivalent to a death sentence.

The organization pointed out that 900 patients lost their lives in the Gaza Strip due to delayed medical evacuation, and that about 16,500 patients are still waiting for approval to travel to receive treatment, including 4,000 children in urgent need of evacuation, stressing that the continued restrictions on the movement of patients exacerbate the health catastrophe and threaten the lives of thousands of cases that cannot be treated within the medically exhausted Strip.
