The health sector is taking an important step to improve the quality of services

The Minister of Health, Mohamed Siddiq Ait Messaoudane, accompanied by the High Minister of Digitization, Meriem Ben Mouloud, signed a cooperation agreement aimed at digitizing the health sector through data exchange within the framework of embodying the national interoperability system.
This agreement, according to a statement by the Ministry of Health on Thursday, falls within the framework of a unified national vision aimed at strengthening and supporting efforts to develop health services through digital transformation, in line with the state’s strategic directions in the field of digitization and medical administrative modernization.
The agreement aims to accompany and frame the process of exchanging and exploiting data between the two parties within the national interoperability system, allowing the provision of modern and integrated digital services, and the preparation of accurate performance indicators that contribute to supporting decision-making at all levels.
The agreement also includes technical and organizational measures to ensure the security and protection of health data, by establishing strict measures to secure the path of data during processing, transmission or reception, and preventing any unauthorized modification, use or publication.
The Minister of Health explained that this agreement embodies the directives of the President of the Republic related to achieving comprehensive digital transformation, with the aim of improving and developing the quality of public health services, and establishing the foundations of modern governance based on transparency and effectiveness, stressing that the digitization of the health sector today represents an irreversible strategic choice, as it is one of the most important axes of reform of the national health system.
The same spokesman added that the Ministry is working to establish an integrated and interconnected digital health system that allows all health institutions to be linked to a unified national network that includes various digital platforms, ensuring the improvement of the quality of health services and facilitating the citizen’s access to treatment in the best conditions across the entire national territory.
The Minister pointed out that the patient’s electronic file is the basic foundation of this digital transformation, as it enables all health data to be stored in a secured database, allowing access to it from any health facility across the country, highlighting that this system would avoid duplicate examinations and analyses, improve the follow-up of health cases, and facilitate booking appointments and obtaining therapeutic services quickly and effectively.
The Minister also pointed out the existence of a number of other digital platforms, all of which aim to reduce the burden on the citizen and facilitate his access to health services at various levels, including the pharmacy platform, the diseases platform with compulsory authorization, the hospital guidance platform, and the radiotherapy platform.
Ait Masoudane stressed the importance of respecting the privacy and confidentiality of health information, as it can only be accessed with prior authorization and using the patient’s code, ensuring the security of data and protecting the private life of the citizen.
