The Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Maritime Fishing, Yassin Walid, stressed that the obstacles that hinder agricultural projects will be raised, by taking practical solutions and decisions that can be addressed, to ensure the achievement of national food security.
The Minister of Agriculture, according to a statement by the Ministry, chaired a national meeting that gathered investors from the public and private sectors benefiting from agricultural lands in the southern states, within the framework of the Bureau of Development of Industrial Cultures in the desert lands (ODAS) and the National Bureau of Agricultural Land (ONCA), in the presence of the central managers and officials of the bureaus concerned.
The meeting was devoted to listening to the concerns of investors and seeing their aspirations, in addition to identifying the field difficulties that hinder the progress of their projects, with the aim of finding practical solutions and making decisions to address them.
This meeting was a space for the explicit and transparent dialogue, during which dealings expressed their commitment to continuing efforts to contribute to achieving national food security, while emphasizing the need to raise obstacles that prevent the desired results from reaching, whether those related to the central administration or other sectors such as energy, irrigation, communications and finance.
Among the most prominent concerns that were put in place, linking the investors to electricity and communications networks, opening the tracts, a lack of agricultural equipment appropriate to the nature of desert lands, modernizing support and accompanying mechanisms, preparing a map for risk assessment and enhancing the role of local administration in follow -up and accompanying, settlement of agricultural property, facilitating bank financing, licensing with wells, and providing administrative procedures.
In his response to these concerns, the minister affirmed that all the points presented will be addressed at various levels, whether by holding local officials when necessary, or in direct coordination with the relevant ministerial sectors.
The same spokesman also pointed to the registration of an ambitious program within the framework of the Finance Bill for the year 2026, which is devoted to linking agricultural investments and vital oceans with the various necessary networks.
The meeting concluded by emphasizing the organization of periodic sessions to follow up the progress of projects and address the outstanding points gradually and effectively.
