Ashraf minister Trade and export promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, today, accompanied by the Turkish Minister of Trade, Omar Bolat, at the opening of the Algerian-Turkish Economic Forum, with the participation of Algerian and Turkish businessmen, to discuss partnerships and joint investments.

In an opening speech, the minister affirmed Algeria’s aspiration to deepen the partnership and expand its fields with the State of Turkey, especially in the promising productive sectors.

Zitouni explained in his speech that the Algerian-Turkish relations are long-standing and rooted in history, as the two countries share commonalities. Turkey and Algeria also exchange a positive outlook dominated by understanding and respect, the basis of which is the sovereignty of economic decision-making and commercial cooperation, and which is built on the logic of (winner/winner), as he understands it well. “Our Turkish friends who, like us, reject all forms of guardianship, dictates, and economic domination.”

The minister added that Algeria is looking forward to deepening the partnership with Turkey and expanding its fields, especially in promising productive sectors, such as agricultural, food and processing products, mechanical and electrical products, plastic industries and employment, products integrated into global value chains and the tourism and services sector.
