
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamal Badari, announced on Tuesday that 70.30 percent of the new baccalaureate holders obtain one of their first three desires expressed.
The minister stated during a press conference that was active at the Ministry’s headquarters, which was devoted to presenting the results of the guidance of the baccalaureate holders (June 2025 course), that the number of students from the new baccalaureate holders was 331,827 students, or 97.34 percent.
Regarding students who did not obtain their desires, and who constitute 2.66 percent, the minister stressed that “a second opportunity will be given from today to August 8 in order to re -choose the specialization in a way that achieves the principle of a university seat for each holder of a bachelor’s degree according to his choices and inclinations.”
In the same context, Mr. Badari explained that the results of the digital directives for new students revealed “a clear demand for students for the fields of science and technology, so that more than 65.30 percent of new baccalaureate holders chose scientific and technological specializations, which reflects- as he said-” their increasing awareness of the added value provided by these specialties to the national economy. “
The Minister stated, in return, that the humanities and social sciences, and with the modernization of its educational programs, have become a “basic pillar” in the field of studying society and determining its needs, which makes it “integrated with science and technology”.
By the way, the minister revealed the benefit of “more than 40 thousand new students, which represents 13 percent of the new students from employment contracts immediately after the completion of the study and obtaining the certificate, in the national education and health sectors”, which translates “the directions of the Algerian state in connection with linking the university to the economic and social environment”, pointing to the direction of a “large number” of students with an “excellent” and “very good” grade towards the major schools Abdullah and for medical sciences.
Regarding the new academic season, Mr. Badari stressed that he will be “smart and safe, cyber, based on the pillars of digitization and its procedural justice, democratization of the university and the maintenance of the student’s dignity,” adding that “all the fees for university entry will be through electronic payment.”
He also pointed out that within the framework of modernizing the Algerian university and making it an incubator for innovation, progress and knowledge economy, university institutions were strengthened during this year with “the University of Health Sciences, as well as strengthening the training network by developing a Bachelor’s in the English language” in addition to “50 new training offers, including 14 offerings devoted to baccalaureate holders of arts with the aim of giving them an opportunity to work in areas related to economic activity.”
The university also benefited this year- the minister added- from new specializations in the master, such as the field of drones, as well as in the directed doctorate that was strengthened in the field of “electronic chips design and industry” and “developmental agriculture and animal breeding” as well as “quantum automated media”.
On the other hand, Badari honored outstanding students in the recent university mathematics competition in Bulgaria with the participation of 73 international universities and 343 students, who received two silver medals, two bronze medals and an estimated rank.
