370 interventions due to weather fluctuations – New Algeria

I registered Civil protection services More than 370 interventions were carried out related to the recent weather fluctuations, especially related to strong winds in many states, without recording any human damage except for minor injuries.
The Sub-Director of Media and Statistics at the General Directorate of Civil Protection, Lt. Col Nassim Barnawi“Fortunately, no human losses were recorded” as a result of strong wind gusts that sometimes reached speeds of 120 km/h across several states of the country, while more than 370 interventions related to incidents of falling trees, electrical lines and poles were recorded, in addition to recording partial collapses of external walls and roofs of old buildings.
The spokesman added that these incidents left 13 people with minor injuries in the states of Algeria, Mostaganem, Oran, Blida, Skikda, Guelma and Chlef.
The total number of interventions also included 211 operations related to falling trees, 87 operations related to the fall of electrical lines and poles, 59 interventions due to partial collapses, and 15 interventions due to the fall of various objects, including advertising billboards and traffic signs.
In the same context, Lieutenant Colonel Bernaoui confirmed that the largest number of interventions related to strong winds had been recorded in the state of Tipaza (48 interventions), followed by the state of Sidi Bel Abbes (26 interventions), Constantine (24 interventions), while 16 interventions were recorded in Algiers.
He recalled the use of all civil protection agents in anticipation of the current situation, as three field intervention teams rotate across all units in the states concerned with the special weather forecast, in addition to recruiting cells for follow-up and vigilance and activating the rescue plan at the level of the headquarters of the states concerned.
He stressed that the field intervention units were placed on alert to ensure rapid intervention while ensuring the highest level of coordination with the concerned authorities
