3 million families connected to fiber optic service – New Algeria

The Ministry of Post explained, in a statement, today, Tuesday, that reaching this threshold comes in the context of implementing the directives of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at achieving continuous progress in completing the national fiber optic connection.
It also comes in line with the “All Fiber” strategy announced by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, especially with the deadline set for the year 2027 for the complete completion of the dissemination of this technology.
It should be noted that generalization technology Optical fiber to the home (FTTH) is distributed in a balanced manner and includes all states of the country.
On the continental level, Algeria, with this number, ranks first in Africa with 3 million households with high-flow (FTTH) Internet service, followed by South Africa, Egypt, the Mauritius Islands, Côte d’Ivoire, and Kenya.
The Ministry affirmed its intention to continue implementing this ambitious strategy, in coordination with various actors in the sector, and with Algeria Telecom, in order to build a modern, sovereign and sustainable national digital system in the service of the citizen and the national economy.
